Kiwamu — Japanese Washi Paper Artist

As a child, I played the Japanese song “Kogitsune” (“The Little Fox”) on a pianica and was praised by my parents. That experience sparked my lifelong love of foxes.

Around 2011, I discovered the art of creating three-dimensional creatures by cutting and folding a single sheet of paper. Fascinated by the technique, I became deeply immersed in paper art.

In 2020, I began sharing my work on social media under the name “Kirigami Papa.” Over time, I developed my own approach to creating paper animals, making use of the delicate, frayed texture of Japanese washi paper. Since then, I have continued to explore the unique qualities of washi and pursue techniques of my own.
